Gerald Geerink, born in 1991 and raised in Grafschaft Bentheim, Germany, near the Dutch border, began his musical education at the age of 8 and since then has gained extensive experience as a classical trained singer.
After graduating from high school he decided to study singing with Prof. Scot Weir at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. After completing his bachelor's degree in 2017, he went on to study for a master's degree at The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, followed by further studies at the Opera Academy at The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. Masterclasses with Malcolm Martineau, Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, Helmut Deutsch and Neville Dove complement his studies.

During his time at the Opera Academy he performed excerpts of roles such as Tom Rakewell (Rake's Progress), Albert (Albert Herring), Il Conte Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Don Basilio (Le Nozze di Figaro), Il Contino Belfiore (La finta giardiniera) and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni).

Besides the operatic repertoire, another main focus is Early Music, especially the Evangelist roles of J.S. Bach.

Gerald is an active performer on the concert stage, having sung many pieces of the major concert repertoire. He performed in Bachs Johannes- and Matthäus-Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Mass in B-Minor and numerous of his cantatas, in Mozart's Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn's Lobgesang, Händel’s Messiah or Haydn’s Schöpfung and has been working together with Concerto Copenhagen, Camerata Øresund, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Aarhus Bach-Selskab or Københavns Drengekor.

In 2019 he won 3rd prize at the International Singing Competition cantateBach! in Greifswald as best male contender.

In the 2019/20 season he performed at the Royal Opera Copenhagen in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo with Concerto Copenhagen under Lars Ulrik Mortensen, following a successful revival in 2023. Gerald was also part of  Light -  Bach dances which premiered 2021 at the Opera House in Copenhagen, followed by further performances in Philharmonie de Paris in 2023.

Recently he was part of The Royal Danish Operas production of Wagners Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg as Lehrbube. In 2026 he will sing Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni together with the Danish National Opera.
